What is the main difference between this two lens? Price diff is not very big. Also anybody knows the current price for both of this lens, both brand new and second hand.

Sigma 12-24 can be used for FF
but I think the 10-22 only for Crop Cam. |

I have own both lens before...
as per earlier mentioned, the Sigma 12-24mm is for Full Frame camera. While the 10-20mm is only APS-C sensor capable. I should say that the Sigma 12-24mm is slightly sharper ( personal opinion only ). However, the draw back here is that this lens cannot use GND filter. Having a big front element at the front and not having a filter to protect it is very scary, I shoot landscapes often. And that is the reason I sold it away. Distortion is almost zero, you can shoot architecture having straight straight lines For the Sigma 10-20mm, its a much smaller lens. wide open is quite soft. Color reproduction is very good, when stop down to F8 or F16 produces sharp pictures also. If you are going to use crop factor bodies, this lens is for you. I sold it away because I find that I cannot use this lens for indoor event use ( F4-5.6 is not bright enough it seems ). When using GND filters, the vignetting is also very heavy. some of my shots using Sigma 12-24mm http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=355130 Some of my shots using Sigma 10-20mm http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=400939 http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=402472 http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412402 http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415760 |

But trouble with 12-24mm as mentioned, is the spherical surface in front which make using a filters a hassle. wonder if there are any new UWA coming out soon. 16-35mm is too bloody expensive |

It's not a full-frame compatible lens. It is intended for APS-C format, but you can mount and use it on 1.3x and FF formats, albeit not with its full range. Vignetting performance may also be unpredictable.

It's a DX lens but usable on full-frame cameras above 15mm. Check this review out:
http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/cda/re...0/21/9459.html It's in Japanese but there are sample pictures.

Haha no worries. Anyway now I wished I bought the Tokina instead of the Nikon fisheye...
To TS: Do note that a fisheye is not a replacement for a UWA! And vice versa.

i am going to say here that this question has been asked, and answered, in exactly the same progression path only maybe 8 times in my existence
and those are the 8 threads i've decided to read. DO A SEARCH. and as for buying decisions - make up your own mind. or ask your parents, or whoever supplies your finances. i don't see how anyone is going to affect your decision in any way, since there is no mind-numbing, earth-shaking information that you don't have at your fingertips already, if you take the trouble. first hand price: call the shops, ask and compare. at most, 10 minutes work second hand price: check B&S, keep a lookout, get your friends to keep a look out. minimal work 100% accurate because you got it from the horse's mouth.
