Hi All,
I am planning to get my 7-14 very soon. Should I keep the 11-22 or sell it? For those that own both before, what are your views? Thanks. |

You have the 14-54, no need to overlap. The 11-22 sale will fund the 7-14. From a family man point of view.

I have both..but I won't mind parting with the 7-14/f4 but not the 11-22/2.8-3.5.

7-14/4 is not the easiest lens to use. It's not the light either. I would gladly replace that with a 9-18/f4-5.8..but then the 11-22/2.8-3.5 would still be preferred over them.
The 7-14 have a very steep learning curve. I suggest you really try that lens before purchase.

It's not that bad. As long as you are used to the UWA perspective distortion, the 7-14 is no different.
The main problem of the 7-14 is that Singapore has no wide open spaces for you to fully exploit it with! ![]()

My problem with the 7-14 is not taming the beast but my worry when using it in extreme conditions... so there is really nothing to worry about. For VRMan's shooting needs, he is used to 15mm on 35mm format in the past, so this lens is not really a pain for him...

Don't forget that UWA isn't just for landscapes. Sometimes you really don't want a UWA for landscape or everything will be clumped together in a wide angle mess, with little structure to the image. I love wide angle closeups =p 100mm equiv is grand for compressing some landscapes. Depends on application, ya?
