Default Road Trip - Shooting in Malacca

Just wondering if anyone is interested in joining me for a shooting trip over the weekend on 15th and 16th November 2008 in Malacca? We will form a team for every 3-4 photographers. I am doing another recee trip to Muar to look for location the week before that so if anyone is interested, let's discuss about it.

okie... 12+ consider sleep early... haha

btw I think in your poll you shdnt just put "interested". shd have state interested and want to join. some of them might be interested but may not want to join. this is just how i think the poll shd be.

easier to manage how many confirm joining.

shd we set every 4 to go? more cost saving. haha

This is how it works:

Group 1

Driver 1: microcosm
Driver 2: egnaro's friend
Member: egnaro
Member: friend

hotel picked : Bayview

Group 2

There will be maximum of three groups (three cars), and each can then decide, based on their budget, which hotel they want to stay in the city central area (there are a few hotels in the area, with different price tags. But we currently want to stay in Bayview which is less than S$100 per night).

In our group, it cost a little more because we are renting a car instead of driving our own car up to Malaysia. So if your group consist of someone who has a car and is willing to drive up, the cost is only for the hotel room, and if you share rooms, the cost is almost nothing.

Schedule :

15th Nov -

6:00am - Set off from Singapore to Malacca via second link.
(different drivers will arrive at different times, so we will meet up again at Bayview Hotel at about 11:45am to check into the rooms).

1:00pm - Meet for lunch at a local eatery at Jonkers Walk. Own time own target with shooting afterwards. Mainly street shooting.

4:00pm - Head towards the red colour church (Christ Church of Malacca) and shoot. Street and landscape.

7:00pm - Head out for dinner.

9:00pm - Head back to the church for some night shooting.

11:00pm - Retire for the night.

16th Nov -

5:00am - Assemble and head out to the seaside to shoot sunrise.

7:00am - Head out for breakfast at Jonker's Walk

10:00am - Head back to room to rest

12noon - Check out of hotel and leave for Singapore, own time.
(Some might want to have lunch together, so can meet together and have lunch before heading back to Singapore).

- - -

Things to bring:

1. Passport!!
2. Charger and multihead extension (so that more guys can charge at the same time)
3. Devices to backup images from CF cards (if needed) or laptop
4. Tripod for those who want to do night shoot for landscape
5. Comfy shoes, 1 change of clothes
6. Think wet weather plan and bring something for yourself (umbrella or poncho, I am sure some E-3 users might continue shooting even if it rains)

The rest you pack according to your own needs. Some simple meds like aspirins and charcoal pills if you have a weak stomach, etc.

This is the plan for now.

Sure! Put your name into the list and we will see how many will fill up into your group. If you are driving, then share the cost of petrol or something.
