Default Quality diff for photo paper vs glossy print paper

You know the glossy paper used by those printing shops at Bras Basah... if I print a photo on that kind of paper, is there a significant diff between that and printing on photo paper, visual quality-wise?

There are many types of photo paper, glossy paper is one of them as well. Are you comparing non glossy prints such as matte vs glossy prints ?

Yep. That was what I was referring to. Thanks for the clarification.

Anyone has any idea roughly how much it'd cost to print on photo paper 100cm x 27cm? I need to prep a quote by tonight and all the labs closed liao.

I'm referring to lab prints and printing bureaus, not home printing.

altho some high end inkjet printing are rather impressive, but I'm still prefer lab prints.

Sorry, realize have not answer your question directly last night....

not sure what kind of "high quality homemade inkjet print" you are referring to... and what kind of quality you able to produce from your own printing, so can't simply tell you what kind quality comparison between this two.

but here is my opinion, to produce high quality print out myself, I need to invest on devices and materials like printers, ink and paper, and time to study how to get best results and the actual time spend on printing...

so to justify all these investment and cost saving, I need to have high volume printing. If I have high volume printing, I don't have time to produce images anymore. So I would rather farm out printing jobs to printing bureaus.

Yes, lab print is about that price, hope you also factor you time, and some profit markup in your quote.
