In its second year, The Singapore Teddy Bear Show 2008 promises to wow you with the usual favourites alongside new attractions and highlights. International award-winning artists will be showcasing their signature creations, and through their distinctive designs, show you why their works are so coveted. Discerning collectors will also appreciate the fact that the organizers have brought in the limited edition STEIFF Japan Teddy, handcrafted by German craftsmen, using only the highest quality alpaca.

This year’s theme, "A Bear Perspective", opens up the world of the teddy bear, fur and all, to reveal multiple dimensions from which to love the simple teddy bear. At one level, the art of bear making is a craft that challenges the most seasoned artist to develop individual styles and techniques. On another level, the teddy bear is a delightful companion that easily charms both children and adults alike. The artists have added a further dimension this time through collaboration with The Little Arts Academy, by contributing part of their proceeds to help disadvantaged children get a fair shot at life through an art education.

Who could resist stepping into a world where the memories of their childhood wonderment is given shape and celebrated with such genuine affection and charity?

Most of the bears, if not all, are exposed for viewing. Photography is allowed as long as permission has been sought from the artists / exhibitors. We seek all shutterbugs understanding to this as some artists might want to protect the rights to their bear designs. Please do not use the photos taken during the show for any commercial purpose without prior approval from the artists or the organizer. Judging from last year's show, there should be no issue with photography.

Btw, we are looking for 2 volunteer photographers to help cover the show photography. Due to this being a non-profit event (no admission charge for the one day show), we are unable to pay any fee for the photography service. We will, however, provide a set of goodie bag (show official t-shirt, a box of traditional games, recycle bag) to the volunteers for their help. We will also give credit to the photographers if the photos are being used in any PR / media coverage. Pls let me know if anyone is interested.

is it possible to ask the exhibitors in advance? Dont know if the bears showcase location has been fixed but maybe a no-photography-allowed area for the exhibitors who prefer?

may be coming down, take pictures and then paste on forums for those who dont have time to go.
