Thread: Cokin filter set?

  1. #1

    Default Cokin filter set?

i am currently using a x700 and have various lens with different thread sizes...

is there a colkin filter system for the minolta x700?

i understand that colkin will save me money on the filters as i no need to buy all different size ones.
    am i right?

heh, as far as I know, there is no such things as Nikon-mount or canon-mount or minolta-mount for the cokin systems. Basically its just something you attached to the front of your lens, just like any normal filters (UV Guard, Hoya filters, ...etc).

You need a filter holder, that holds the Cokin filters (and yes, sort of one size fits all), and a ring adapter that fits the diameter of your lens, (e.g. 52mm, 58mm, 72mm, ...etc ..etc).

However, they have 3 series, 'A', 'P', and 'X-Pro', the A-series, I think is for the smaller diameters, P-series I think 58mm and bigger, and X-Pro are basically for the bigger format cameras.

Do check out their website for more info, I think its Its in english, haha.

    Hope that makes sense.
