Default Mantis versus Jumping Spider

Was at SBG yesterday. Took this type of mantis 2 weeks ago. And this type of jumping spider a week after that. And yesterday, 2 of the same met.....and the answer is.....below.

It started below the leaf, and as I was position the shot, it moved to and fro, top to bottom....

FZ30+Raynox 250, F11, 1/30s, ISO80, 2 diffuse flash, handheld

#1: Presenting....the jumping spider


#2: Lets start head first...


#3: Yucks.....abdomen better....


#4: ...its juicier!


#5: Legs are not too bad...

I had also witness a previous encounter,and the story ended the other way round.Well in that previous encounter it was a juvenile mantis.CY you are lucky to have covered the entire action. Just wonder how long does it lasted.

Thanks all!

Alan: spent about half hr shooting this. I must have encounted it when it just caught the prey...cos it was mostly intact in the first pic. Mantis are known to eat fast.
