Default a starling and an eagle

visited the place with chngpe01 took the eagle pics. not much luck. managed to shoot 1 sequence of an eagle flying past. shutter speed was only 1/250 due to inexperience and forgetting to change settings, luckily got IS. D60 AF ok, but would prefer faster AF aka 300D

For the 2nd shot, isit ok to focus to infinity if the eagle is quite far?

Erwinx, the Starling is a good catch. Good capture of the WB Sea Eagle too. I don't think 300D is suitable for you, rather a 1D /1Ds or perhaps 2D/ 2 Ds?

Too bad I couldn't go this morning. I got there late this afternoon and again the weather was bad - thunderstom. I managed to get some shot after the downpour stopped, but lighting was not good. I will be posting them later.

Cheers

thx for the advice. i also noticed a pair of coppersmith barbets digging a hole in the branch as well, but the tree is rather tall so photo-wise not so wonderful - can usually find coppersmith barbets nesting in shorter trees...

falcon as for how to focus on flying birds i just change to AI-servo and hope for the best. infinity focus won't work well.
