Default Raynox DCR250

First time using Raynox DCR250 with 28.80mm 3.5-5.6D len on D300 handheld.
Hard to focus need to learn.

Can you explain why it is hard to focus? Is it becuase it is handheld? Thks.

With raynox u need a lot of pratice. for me it is also hard to focus. sometimes by the time i get the focus. insects fly away already. a lot of patient needed too. next time try to take from another angle.

Yes, my sentiments exactly. Takes a lot of patience and practice. The 4 inches or so distance is something to be mastered as well 'cos the bugs won't let you get too near them...

Shot with SB800 flash.
Need lot of pratice because of distance too near.

Actually how close it can get depends on what lens you attach it to...

For this case, the max it could go was only 80mm. But if attached on a longer lens then you can go closer...

the the DCR-250 , u have to focus super close to Min.. focussing distance with the small DOF its make it even harder to focus

practise makes perfect
