E300 is using a Kodak CCD sensor while E330 is using the Panasonic NMOS sensor that's capable of LiveView.

Definitely know that they DON'T use the same sensor!

The E-300 uses an 8mp Kodak CCD, while the E-330 uses a 7mp Panasonic NMOS (LiveMOS); the E-330 also has a second, smaller CCD beside the viewfinder specifically for Live View ModeA.

As someone who uses both cameras, I lean towards the E-330 because of its Live View, tilt screen, and its improved processing; I've barely used the E-300 since, except when the weather was bad or I was afraid of having the E-330 stolen.

A quick, out of the topic question. Is the color rendition better with the 300? The Kodak CCD is legendary from what I've heard.

No.
I find the WB to be very warm on the E300... requires a lot of colour correction to satisfy me.

Well I said above, the E-330's improved processing makes a difference...I especially love its vivid, natural, and muted colour modes, as well as its virtual filters for monochrome shooting.

I NEVER shoot RAW due to the amount of time required to process images, so it's great to have the additional options for processing images right in the camera.

I only shoot in RAW... and the difference in colour accuracy is still there whether you shoot RAW or jpeg. This is because the starting point of RAW conversion is the default and user-selected camera settings which are the same whether we shoot in RAW or jpeg. The main advantage of shooting in RAW in this instance is that it is easier to correct any inherent poor white balance non-destructively which is not possible in jpeg.

The other difference between the E300's Kodak CCD sensor and the E330's Panasonic sensor is the slightly better high ISO noise performance of the Panasonic NMOS sensor.
