I am back from my short vacation....

Ok, where am I now? Oh, you guys are talking about female singers. Why not male singers also? For husky voice, nobody beats Brian Adams. However, my favorite male singer is Sting. I have his entire collection since his Police days.

    Friends
Maybe those who stay near YCK or are willing to travel can gather?

I can offer my place around the middle of Nov (need to travel before the 10th)

We can have supper at the Prata place near Casaurina Rd, then do some demos at my place, folks can bring their equipment, discs etc or simply enjoy the fellowship

    Cheers

any folks out here uses a CD stabilizer? i have 1 but it does not seem to work for my do-it-all DVD player.

my previous long gone Denon VCD player was able to acommodate that extra thickness which added oomph to sound of CDs.

The best CD stabilizer I have used is the Harmonix CD Tuning Sheet. It is extremely thin and can be used in most DVD/CD players. You can find more details here.

Kingsley Company used to sell them in a packet of 8 sheets or individual sheet, but I have to buy them online.

err... i was wondering more as to how does 1 know if a certain DVD/CD player can accommodate a disc stabilizer... i have 1 from Audio-Technica (AT674) at 12.5g, at the back got say "The AT674 cannot be used with some CD players because of mechanical difference.".

does it mean i have to bring it along in future for demo? if shatter? its made of alumite-treated aluminium.

Yes, I am afraid you will have to bring it along for demos. No choice.

That, or use Harmonix CD Tuning Sheets. It sounds much better than the Audio-Technica CD Stabilizer and Monster Cable CD Damping Rings.

Try coupling it with Mark Levinson or Parasound pre/power amps, and AudioQuest Kilimanjaro speaker cables.
