My 350D's popup flash finally gave up and I have decided to get it repaired. The flash pops up, but no light comes out.
Has anybody gotten a flash repaired before and how much did it cost you? I am thinking of doing the usual.. just bring it to Harborfront and let Canon settle. Unfortunately since it is an old camera and long out of warranty, I get bitten in the wallet. Sian. But what to do.. sometimes carrying my entire off-camera-lighting system with me is just way too much trouble. Would like to hear from your experiences as well as suggested fixes. No, it isn't a problem with a jammed microswitch (under the shoe), the flash will not even pop up if the switch is jammed. You can test with a few sheets of paper to trip the switch. Alternatively if anybody has lobang for fast, WIDE glass so I don't need the flash, that would work too ![]() |

you could bring it down (or phone) and ask for a quote before you commit?
