Do you refer to Digital SLR training or PnS training?
If you are new to Canon world, then you shall learn how your camera work and some basic techniques and concepts from the course. So far I didn't hear any negative comments for the course. |

read the find print .. it is call CANon Digital Lab not Nikon Digital lab so only for CANON user only, and u need to sign up before u can go. Its more of a product brief .. for beginner .. those who know what is ISO,AWB, etc etc .. best to skip it. I attended b4 ... it was EYE open for those who are new but will be a bit boring for those who are into DSLR for long time. Last edited by peterpan1975; 20th October 2008 at 06:36 AM. |

hey guys,
Just my 2 cents worth. I went for the Canon free training for SLR. It was a course which teaches the fundamentals and basic. Eg. What is Av Tv manual custom functions etc. I went for it about 2months after I had my camera. I thought it was a good time, because I had 2 months to find out and play around with my camera. And after about 2 months mucking around with it as well as reading up on photography online. The session was useful to me, because I have encountered some stuff which I do not understand or do not know, so the trainer being experience was able to answer them quite satisfactorily. So it is your choice. Learn your foundation on your own first so you can take the session to ask more advance questions as well as refresher on your basics. Or you can go there to learn the basic so you can skip the self exploration. the choice is up to you. Btw I think there is a 3 mths validity, so make sure you go before 3mths is up from point of purchase. my 2 cents cheers Shy@n |

i think if Canon academy open up for more advance classes...sure earn big bucks...not sure why they only provide basic for new owners only. The instructor Jino Lee is one of the best trainer i encountered so far....Clear and now his stuff well. Well illustrated and good trainer. Enjoy every bit of his training

If you have purchased a new Canon camera, the price of the lesson is included in your purchase price so you might as well register & drop in to have a look, unless you are very confident of using your camera. Even after reading the manuals & trying out for yourself, it is always useful to have a pro explain through all the stuff step by step, give tips/share experience etc.
They have other "need to pay" courses like night photography, food photography, even Bali travel photography & you may wish to consider these in future. |

I think they are open to all. Since it is a need to pay course.
But I assume all the camera used by teacher for demo should be canon sponsored =p |
