Hi All
The photos taken by my 350D seems to be abit dark. My friend and I took the same subjects - she used the 1000D and I used my 350D. Yet hers seem ok, but mine is dark. Just wonderin what possibly could be the problem. Light sensor or something? Should I bring it to Canon to have a check? Any advice appreciated! Cheers Jinny |

Compare the settings of both of your cams. In addition, post a picture please including EXIF data. before you suspect a technical fault let's focus on the human ones

well, certain batches of the 400D have underexposure problems.. meaning the pictures taken turn out dark.
theres a very easy and method of solving this problem. send it to CSC. yes it is free. i had the problem begining of the year and after sending it in... my problem is solved and it didn't cost me a single cent.

maybe you could post both pictures with exif. or compare both exif data sets - see if there's anything different - exposure compensation, etc.

Yes, pictures will help in troubleshooting. I am surprised because my old 350D has a tendency to over-expose so your experience is certainly atypical.

well, who has the right to say free or not free to fix your camera beside Canon Service Center?

No worries, there are no spare parts to order. It's just a simple software tweak (i.e., a permanent exposure compensation). Honestly, it should take less than 3 minutes if the technician follows exactly what you want.
If it's out of warranty, the charge is probably about $50.
