Default Calling everybody : Oct 2009 dates

Just wanna remind that Oct 2009 is very hot. Lots of queries. Many others are also experiencing the same thing.

Oct 3 is mid autumn. Many hot dates also.

I think even if you are a newbie PG you can make a killing.

All the best for your biz!

Does anybody impose a "last minute/late booking" surcharge? How much? (Late, desperate bookings tend to happen during such periods)

And what is considered a "late" booking? 1 week before, 3 days, the night before, 2 hrs?

Then again it boils down to how low should one charge? How much is one willing to undercut? I mean, besides spoiling the market in general, is it really worth it for themselves to charge $500/600+ rates, (or even lower!) for a whole day's work? Sometimes even including prints and album! Maybe the newbies should give their cameras a rest first and give private tuition. Do the math - tuition pays better, and will always be in demand.

But hor, have you ever cover a wedding whereby their friends who want to help out taking photos, carry a more high-end model than you?

Happened to me once. And hor, they were like very very pro, wrap plastic bag around the flash head, looked very lou_jia (old bird) I was using a 1Dmk2 and no diffuser on 580.

At another wedding there were 5 DSLRs! Even jia mei use 50D...

Oh yes....do charge extra. Just ~ 20% nia but I make sure they take my top package and they will sign up during the meetup.

3rd oct, signing soon. Today suddenly got 2 enquiries for this date after 1 week plus of drought.... it really depends on luck.

Oh 20th Sep 2009, was booked earlier part this year....did not know the pattern 20/09/2009. Unfortunately the couple sorta split and i'm free again. But seriously don't really feel good taking the deposit, but bo bian who will throw away money anyway...

9/9/9 is 7th month but got an afternoon ROM shoot, hopefully got lobang for AD. But I think its not so popular for ADs.

I simply don't care about what recession, Oct 2009 is really fast and furious. So many queries that its absurd (about 30% of my queries are October)..... All rushing before year of the Tiger? I think I am not even gonna take weekend ROMs for $400 2hr svc only unless its 3-5pm.

Waiting for the nuclear fallout next year when all the lower priced service providers are booked, I am keeping my weekends open unless they can accept my pricings.
