Default Active D lighting...

hi,

Noob question...

like to know if Active D lighting once applied to the JPEG picture by the camera can alter or not ?

also, how come exif does not show if it is active D lighting set to off, low , normal or whatever ?
how to check what's the active D lighting setting on the jpeg pic ?

thanks

Which camera are you using? On my D90 it can show the Active D-Lighting setting used in the exif, but sadly you can't undo the effects of it. Maybe you can see if shooting RAW "removes" the Active D-Lighting? Those who shoot in RAW will have a better idea since I always chiong jpeg.

Always shoot in RAW. Then you can have full control of your photo. JPG is already compressed so a lot of information is lost.
I do believe that in RAW, the pictures will "duplicate" when you set a new Active-D Lighting settings etc (someone correct me if wrong!)
