Default Photo browser for OSX

hi there,
i don't seem to find any acdsee equivalent photobrowsers for mac that is as fast and easy to tag photo as acdsee
currently using photomechanic, more of a captioning browser

i just want a simple and fast brower for going over thousand of photos from the sports events, spotting hero photo, checking focus at 100%, tagging and export to photoshop for further edits

any recommendations?
tqvm

You're not happy with Lightroom or Apecture? Even iPhoto will do what you seem to need. ACDSee is so old! On Windows, Picasa is the one to beat nowadays unless I've missed some special request you have..
