hmmm image quality is just about right.
But based on this, i'm certain i will limit myself to iso1600 max if i ever need to pump iso for shoots. |

i think a better guage is to take it in a very dark situation
eg off candlelight, in a bar or pub etc its in the shadows we see the difference the d700 shows some "bands" in the shadows in very dark situations at 6400 and above. |

The first photo looks pretty good. There's just very slight noise that's not really noticeable.
No point doing 100% crop if you're not going to be putting 100% crop photos for people to view.
