Ha. I suggest you follow night86mare's suggestion of purchasing the cokin filter holder. We have gone out shooting together before, both armed with a Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC. I used the Tian Ya filter holder, he used the Cokin... I have slight vignetting at 10mm, but not him... Go figure.

You can always saw off the other edges of the Tian Ya if you're a DIY kind of guy, but the Cokin holder will be so much easier.

the other day in dpreview forums i saw this bunch of guys discussing how to get rid of vignetting altogether EVEN with the cokin wide angle adaptor..

something involving a lot of time and sandpaper.

    siao!

do cokin holders hold tianya filters? i asked the salesman at CP and he said no.

true or false? (i suspect that he's lying, haha)

anyway, the prices at cathay are as follows:
    the lens adaptor is 16
    the holder is also 16
and the filters are 28 each (though they're not in stock now, sian)

does anyone else in sg sell cokin, cheaper? i think CP can be a little expensive at times.

they do hold tianya filters, but you MUST buy the P-type filter holder

try orient photo, but i don't think you get a much better price?

Unfortunately, OP sells the Cokin GND filters at a much higher price. The last time I asked about the 121 filters, CP quoted $28 but OP quoted $48.

Does Lee filter the Landscape set have any use for Singapore Landscapes? or Should I buy the ND set to use in singapore.
Think of concepts and work towards it.

not sure about the lee filter part of your post, but i think ND sets are a must for some shots, regardless of geography. (but i think you'll use it more often overseas lah, singapore doesn't have very much landscape-y places for you too shoot, or so i think)

Yes, they are interchangeable. Bought the Tianya set but the holder is vignetting at 16-20mm. Then I tried the Cokin wide angle filter holder to solve the vignetting and it fits the Tianya adaptor.

you bought the tianya set, with all the different filters? it's 110 right?

anyway, how many stops is the GND? also, are the filters good (does IQ drop a lot?)

and it vignettes at 16-20 on a crop sensor or a FF? thanks!

Yes, the Tianya filter set. Bought it at $75 from Eugene. Here's his MO: http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=373401

2 stops for the GND filter. The filters are good enough.

My lens is Nikon 16-85mm DX lens.
