Default Joint Lens Update Service Announced.

This might be of some interest to those who own lenses of different manufacturers.

I'd say that's a much more important announcement than the micro Four Thirds business, but that's just me.

I hope it works well, as it opens up possibilities.

I mirror your sentiment... we are seeing real Four Thirds standard joint operations which means that they are committed to working very closely together.

Since nobody tried it, I decided to take the plunge... and successfully updated my Leica D-Summilux 25mm f/1.4 to version 2.1 using the Panasonic L1 after the body has been updated to version 2.1 first. Previously, this Leica 25mm lens could only be updated with the L10 and not with the L1.

If any of the rest of us could get the Leica D-Summilux 25mm f/1.4, we might see how it works with an Olympus body also. Hopefully, it's been tested for everything.

Yes, I have successfully updated my Leica D-Summilux 25mm f/1.4 to version 2.1 using Olympus E-3. No problem encountered, it was a fast and straight forward process exactly the same as updating the firmware for Zuiko digital lenses.

I think quite a few of us have the Leica D-Summilux 25mm... but are keeping very quiet... don't know why.
