Hi guys,
Need some help on some lens selection. Was thinking of getting between 16-35/24-70. Which is of a better buy ? will it be a waste getting both ? Hope to hear some advice from the experts here. Thanks |

They both serves different purpose and also depending on the camera type you are holding, you will use need different lens. I personally think that the 24-70L will get more use on a full frame camera than the 16-35.

You don't match a lens simply to the camera body; you match it to your shooting needs.

Its just confused me between those 2 lens mention. The usage will be more on GP, Indoor and outdoor and occasionally some wedding or some functions. |

No one can possibly know your shooting style better than yourself. You can look at anyone's photos taken with the 16-35 and 24-70, and you still wouldn't be any wiser if you don't know your shooting style yourself. You cannot compare these two lenses back to back because they are for different purposes.
What lens have you been using at the moment? What characteristics do you find lacking of the lens that you are currently using? |

IMO for general purpose 24-70 should be more suitable...... provided u dun mind the size and weight....

Get both. Cause for landscape, 24mm is not wide enuf. For weddings/event, 35mm not close enuf. So you will end up needing 2 lens. Suggest you get the 24-70 first than plan for the 16-35. That's my plan for now too. If you dun need the 2.8, than a 24-105 will be nice too.

If you need 24-something zoom lens, and the 24-105 isn't your cup of tea, then go for the 24-70.

Which would you shoot more? 70mm or 16mm? You said your landscapes are covered by your 21mm, so get the 24-70mm?

At the end of the day, output will depend on the man behind the cam... You should more concern on the focal length whether suit your need or not |
