Anyone using Canan CP-E4 battery pack?

Did a search but couldn't find any post on it.

Anyone using this battery pack for 580EXII? Does it really increase the recharge time? How many flashes can it last?

I've two of them. Just started using them about three months ago and very happy with the devices.

It does DECREASE the recharge time by a lot.

No use buying the CP-E4 unless you shoot in the rain often.

You're just paying for the weather seal.

That's all. That's the difference between the E3 & E4 and the E3 is cheaper.

More than that...about $20-$25 thereabouts. I'm also thinking about getting one myself.

But heck...who knows the weather seals may come in useful....esp if you use in tandem with the 580EXII which is also weather sealed.

I got the CP-E4 from OP yesterday for $250. It does recharges much faster now but I can hear a faint buzzing sound coming from the red LED when it's lighted. Wondered if it's normal. If not, I'm gonna go back for an exchange.

Should be normal. Mine does that too.
