Hi,
Thinking of getting the HLD-4, but previously i saw in some forum, ppl are complaining abt it saying the battery life is no better than a single BLM-1. Is it true? Anyone using it? |

not really sure,I find it quite true actually, like, with the grip,my batt dies out faster than with one batt and no grip, even with occasional use of live view and or IS

I am not sure that is true. Having two BLM-1 in the grip gives more power that having one in the camera. Having one in the grip gives about the same use as having it in the camera. Of course, the grip consumes some power in itself but that is very low. The problem with the grip is that Olympus never really managed to fix it for AA use.
Personally I got a free grip but only used for one or two days. I found it making the camera too large and heavy. I have enough batteries, so if needed I can quickly swop. My grip is now sold.

The battery life on the HLD-4 is of no concern to me. I use the HLD-4 when I need a more comfortable grip for portrait shots. And I always only load one battery in there even when I use the grip to lighten the load.

has anybody tried that new panasonic AA battery? The name is Evolta... sounds like E-volt, the name of Olympus DSLR line-up.
