Default MTS/ BDM video format?

hi.

I just got a panasonic video cam. and using SD card.

Sorry but im very new to this.

I havea problem tranferring the video to my laptop.

i tried inserting the sd card into my lappy, but only pics file .jpg is able to view and transfer.

for my video files, i am not able to view nor transfer.

i have notice my vid file format is in .mts or .bdm format....

i search around CS already and download the 'VLC media player' , but it doesnt seems to work.

any1 kindly plz give me some advice? thanks!

when you first brought the panasonic video cam it shd come along with the cd installation.
there's a software to it to read and play the .mts format.

i'm using Sony vid cam and it's format is .mts too so the installation cd shd help you.

I have posted information related to download, playing, processing, editing of MTS files on my website. I have also added playing of MTS files to my multi media player.

New 2008.12.09 - MHplay.exe with .mts playback added.

I use this little program to play back media files almost to the exclusion of all others. It is small (100k) and I have copied it to my camera chips so that I have a player with me when I am not at home.

We now have a program dedicated to download and playing of "Canon HF" camera files.
