Kodak PhotoCD resolution

Hi!
I developed my film recently and got the images digitized on a kodak photo CD but the resolution is quite low, at 1544x1024 jpegs. Is it supposed to be this low? Last I had a kodak photo cd the files were in their own format, and when opening them I could choose some pretty high resolutions. But that was a long time ago. Any thoughts? Thanks!
