An external bounce flash would very much improve the lighting.

Be careful using Pentax lenses on Olympus. I'll get back later today (16:25 in my part of the world now) and explain with some images why.

Hi again,
OK, now it is 19:20 in my part of the world and I am back. I also got two, one 18yo and one 9yo. OK, here it comes. I don't know what kind of Pentax lenses and adapters you have, but of the three lenses I have, I can only use two. The two I can use are both Tokina, one 135/2.8 and one 70-210/3.5 zoom. The 50/1.7 I have has a metal tab which comes in contact with the cameras electrical contacts when twisted on the camera. The image illustrates the lens on the adapter, and in the red marking you can see the tab I mean. ![]() If your lens has that tab the same place as the electrical contacts of the camera than you have three options. 1. Don't use those lenses on the camera. 2. Get an adapter which allows to mount the lens in an angle so that the tab won't do any harm. 3. Pure and simple, get rid of it. It has no practical use, so it can be cut off. Just be careful so that no metal parts will fall into the lens or you not damage the lens in any way. I went for option 1 with tha lens, I don't use it. I have a Nikkor 50/1.4 and also the ED50/2 macro. I also had several OM 50/1.8s until recently, so the 50/1.7 is not something I really need. My Tokina PK lenses are OK, they don't have that tab, even though I don't use the zoom, but the 135/2.8 is used now and then. BTW, ask admins to move your thread to the Four Thirds section. That's where DSLRs are discussed. I already asked them, but so far nothing happend.

You are brave. Be careful nothing falls into the lens.
Good luck.

I disagree. Direct flash will ALWAYS give harsh, cold bad shadows. It's OK only if nothing else is possible or the effect is needed, but should be avoided othervise.
