Canon 250D - discrepancy in price?

I just called Alan Photo and Cathay Photo to inquire about the Canon 250D (that's a closeup dioptre in case you're wondering)...

AP quoted me $145 unbargained... yet CP quoted me $186 NETT price

I'm really wondering why there's such a big discrepancy.. does anyone know why? Price difference of $10 or $5 can understand.. but $40++??

Same filter thread size ? I got mine for $100 for 58mm from mscolors a few months ago..
