Hi guys,
Been thinking about getting an affordable(and good) zoom lens for my K10D. Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 I narrowed it to these two since the Pentax 55-300 is about US$200 more expensive online. So anyone got experience with these lenses? can share? Oh and another thing, cause I hardly buy things online. Are there any warranty if we buy online? Many thanks |

I'm also somewhat looking around that range...
The last time I asked about a pricing though, was for the Sigma 70-300 in AP (SLS). Was quoted around $300. That was about 3 weeks ago. |

Can try at Peninsula Plaza that sells Tokina SX630 60-300mm but no AF except MF only. I think it costs only$140.

Using the Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro on K100D
AF is rather noisy, and at 300mm almost half the lens (everything in front of the zoom ring) is rotating "zeee zeeee zeeee". Photos tend to get a little soft after 200mm, but below 200mm it can produce some sharp photos on my 6MP sensor ![]() Have not really explored the 1:2 close-up function that can be enabled from 200mm-300mm. Not really into macro. Haven't tried the Tamron so can't compare either |
