Sigma 70-300mm DG Macro (Non-APO)

Hi,

Anybody know the price of the above lens (Non-APO)?

I am a newbie and was "too" eager to get a telephoto zoom lens and went down to SLS yesterday. My intention was to get a Canon 55-250mm, and expected the price to be around $360.

Entered Edison Electronics (as it was on the list of Canon distributors), and asked for the Canon Lens. The salesman was actually quite "friendly" and recommended me the Sigma lens after letting me try and compare their picture quality. I was impressed and as usual, bargained from the price of $395 to $345.

I was heartbrokened today when I found out with that kind of money, I can get the APO version. And guess what, I called them this morning, and they opened their mouth to tell me the non-APO is $300!!!

I've told myself to let it go and not seek trouble. But, I just wanted to know how much I've been overcharged. I actually called other shops to find out the APO price, but unfortunately, they don't have both the non-APO item and its price.
