Default Where to Buy: Fibre Optics for Light Painting?

I am looking to buy fibre optics that can be used for light painting (a Photography technique).

Appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks.

i have seen some expert and i have tried it on flowers before with a simple flashlight with a paper cone to make it a snoot like effect and it works fine.

haha else u have to diy and salvage from those pasar malam toys?

u got a link or pic to show me why specifically a fibre is needed?

Hello Donovan,

The simple answer to your question is: A Lightbrush is basically a box containing a daylight balanced lightsource connected to a fiber optic cable which ends in a hand-held "socket". Into this "socket" a variety of light-shaping tools and modifiers can be attached. Light passes thru the the cable and out the socket and attachment(s), giving you basically what amounts to a very controlable (not to mention expensive) flashlight. The technique involves openning the the lens shutter for long periods of time in a relatively dark room and applying light to your subject in much the same way that a painter would use an airbrush.

Due to the need for long exposure times and multiple exposures, the technique is incompatible with digital capture.

For examples, see the Calumet Photographics catalog. The pages showing the Hosemaster™ tools has at least one example of the technique.

If you are looking for this thing, it call hosemaster, very expensive, many years ago Cathy selling this, not sure still has it or not, most photographers are using it on a 4x5 or 8x10 camera, cause each exposure is between a few minutes to an hour, and each exposure is different, the photographers won't be painting exactly the thing each time.
