How do u mod the Sony A100 to take IR?

Hi bros...

how do i mode the Sony A100 to take IR pics? Will buying IR filters be sufficient or is there other mods to be done?

Also, are the modifications or changes reversible?

Bro... looking at your signature below, you only seem to have A100.
Unless you have another camera, I would not recommend the mod as it is permanent and you won't be able to use it for normal photography.

Shooting with filters and a tripod is definitely possible, search in this subforum for my instructions on using the A100 for IR.
If you interested, PM me you contact and when I go IR shooting, I can call you along. I just modded my A100.

How is the performance of youe Sigma 24-70 F2.8 EX... Nice range to have...

haha....i am planning to get the A700 soon....so i was wondering if i can mod the A100 to explore IR...

so can i assume that without the mod u did, i can use IR filter and tripod but must expose for quite some time? but with the mod u did, there is no need for the IR filter and tripod?

it is my walkabout lens and i only use my kit lens when i taking landscape or group shots. hoping to get my hands on the new tamron 10-24mm lens.....hehe and the 70-200mm F2.8 lens complete it...haha

Cokin filters give a different look and feel to IR, BUT you will find using the filter holder not a very good option as light can leak in from the sides...
