I am a frequent shooter at motorsports events in the Sepang F1 Circuit in Malaysia. In my recent trip to the Singapore F1, I find that the circuit is not photographer friendly at all. Some of you guys produced really good images despite the limitations and fences and the accessibility of the circuit's good locations.
Just as a guide for future F1 races to photographers, do list down you favourite spots in the recent F1 race in Singapore. Ideally views unhindered by fencing. I was at the Bay Grandstand, so the best spots has to be: ![]() 1. Top of grandstand, elevated view, overlooking turns T16 and T17, Bay Grandstand. 2. Top of grandstand, elevated view, overlooking tunnel exit at T19, Bay Grandstand. 3. East end of grandstand viewing cars approaching T18, Bay Grandstand. 4. Track level, at west end of Bay grandstand, peeping though the opening in the fence for official photographers (available if no OP around), viewing cars turning T15 and T16 (best spot for me) Do add in your favourite locations in the list. My F1 pics are at: http://www.pbase.com/chenws/spore_f1 I hope the organisers will consider us photographers (so many as I saw over the 3 days) in future F1 events. I suggest that they sell special passes for photographers, and build elevated platforms with unhindered views at certain locations, such at turns T3, T5, T7, T9, T11, T16, T18, T23. The platforms can be elevated, and located 50m away from the turn, the distance safe enough to do away with fencing for a unhindered viewing. After all, it is going to be extra income for them.

1. From top of Bay Grandstand overlooking T16.
![]() 2. From the top, looking at tunnel exit, T19. ![]() 3. At T18, as cars turn into tunnel under the Bay Grandstand. ![]() ![]() I took this on Practice day. After that the security guys added extra fence and prevented anyone approaching the railings (at tunnel entrance) 4. Peeping through the fence and the OP's window in the fence, a clear shot at T15, T16. ![]() Do show some pics of your favourite locations too.

I believe turn 13 is one of the best as well. You can shoot the car coming towards you.
There are alot of official photographer there last year. ![]() With a 300mm, it shoud be sufficent. But look at those photographers, envy, envy... ![]()

Any restrictions on equipment for spectators? Intending on bringing in a tripod as well, are they allowed?
