Hi all,
Based on the forum, I gather that it's quite cheap to buy from Hong Kong. So compared to Hong Kong, how is the prices in Taiwan? Cos i'm going over at the end of the year so might be an option to buy from there. So would appreciate some advises for those who are familiar with the Taiwan scene. 1. Is it cheaper to buy there than in Sg? 2. Do they come with international warranty? 3. Which particular shop do you recommend? i know there's a 'camera street' there near simending. Thanks! |

Bodies don't have international warranty. Flashes and lenses have international warranty, but you must check with the shop of course.
Can't really answer your other 2 qns.

As the other fellow bro mentioned, international warranty for lens only.

I went to Taiwan about 2 months back. Naturally, I went to Nova but its more like the upper floors of SimLim and Funan (Computer stuff mainly). I asked around for the camera street near SiMenDing. Its across the main road from the SiMenDing district. I forgot the name but in english they called it AudioVisual Street. They sell mainly the newer stuff, hard to find the second hand lenses/older models I was looking for and the new stuff was not that cheap either after I converted it to SGD. Though, memory cards seem to be cheaper.

3C products are not cheap in Taiwan unless they are manufactured in Taiwan. The cheapest place you can get any electronic or branded goods is still in Hong Kong.

Hi, you can still buy the lens in Taiwan. For 3rd party lens, eg. Tamron, Sigma, etc, it is still cheaper than in Singapore. But for Canon & Nikon, not much diff as in Singapore. U can request for international warranty from the shops.
U may try asking for quotation from the different shops there in Han Zhong Jie. I purchase my Sigma & Tamron lens there. ![]()
