    Default Dry Box Problem.

I got an AM-PRO dry box about three months back. I suspected that the dry box may not be working and so, I bought a digital hygrometer.

The difference between the $25 digital hygrometer (from Konota) and the one on the box is about 20% at any one point, i.e., the digital hygrometer shows 35%, the one on the box shows 55%.

    Which should I believe?

Also, my warranty comes is from Digital Point. Is this the same guy that went out of business (from earlier posting)?

Can you please let me know where you bought your digital hygrometer from and how much. I have been looking for one for my dry cabinet.
I suspect that I'm having the same problem as you.

    Thanks

Could both be correct? Since the air doesn't circulate much, and the two hyrgos take from diff points in the box?

Open the box for a while, and switch off the box. Do they read the same?

I will try experiment with that when I get home... I placed the digital hygrometer on the top tray though, so quite unlikely.

teerex, I bought it from Konota for $25.

i highly highly doubt that within a 30L enclosure that there is such a type of discrepancy, diffusion will easily make sure the humidity is homogenous within.

I'm not sure if it's the AmPro's hygrometer that is broken. No offence or mean to be a wet blanket, but to be frank, I find Am Pro to be a lousy brand. Bought mine some time back and returned it the following day. The humidity always stayed too low no matter what I did. If you can stretch your budget just a little more, I'd advice u to get the more expensive dry boxes. Afterall, it's a worthy investment for as long as you need to keep your things dry.

    Thumbs up

Digi-Cabi: Humidifier - locally made. Cabinet - imported. Newer model use digital hygrometer. You should get 5 yr warranty. Available at MS Color.

Bossmen: Taiwan made. This is a big company specialising in storage. They have very good QC for all their parts. Damproof. No sliding tray for some models, not a problem.
5 yr warranty. Bossmen website. Highly recommended. Available at MS Color. Model SDG72 sample

Am-Pro: The model at Carrefour doesn't come with magnetic strip on its door (like ur fridge) unlike Bossmen. External design is nice & with sliding tray.
1 yr warranty. There's a newer more expensive Am-Pro design at Digital point. Free delivery if u buy direct from Digital Point.
