Anyone seen the 52mm in stock anywhere?
Tried MS Color, TK so far and both said out of stock. MS Color told me that the agent is out of stock at the moment & it will be some time before stock arrives |

this has been the case since mar 08 or so. and probably even longer. i remember seeing complaints about this way earlier.
the reason, frankly speaking, is probably because the agent does not find it lucrative to bring it in. the excuse i have heard is that there is "worldwide shortage of the material". but everywhere else is overflowing with r72s, be it europe or us. as to why that excuse is given, no idea. you will probably be better off getting people overseas to buy back, or order from overseas. this kind of thing no choice until the agents buck up. |

Hmm, well that's weird considering they have 55mm filters in stock but no 52mm. Isn't 55mm a rather uncommon thread size?
I can go with a 55mm filter + step-up ring right? It appears that it's cheaper/same price as 52mm from overseas sources. |

i suggest you wait for the ir regulars' opinions first, or borrow 55mm + stepup from somebody else. in any case, the bigger the better. if you can afford a 77mm and a stepup adaptor is available then i would go with that. because in future if you get larger thread size lenses you will be protected.. ![]() you can get step-up rings from orient photo, sls. |

:O the cost of the filters seems to increase exponentially with diameter!
