Exclamation Thread for Lumix FZ18 and FZ28 Series

Hi all FZ18 and FZ28 users out there, I thought it would be great if both our camera's threads are merged. The FZ18 thread is kind of dying, but most users are still active, and the FZ28 threads are scattered about without a big population. I think we'll have much more discussion together! There should be no discrimination either!

I was thinking about starting a list of FZ18/28 users still active around, so yea, join in the fun, and try to localize your threads about these two great cameras here. =)

Very cute bird I shot today. It was going to dive into the bushes already so I only had 1 shot at like 15-20 metres range... and its a centre crop, kinda badly expose and bad noise. But I thought its rare enough to show. =)

Taken with P mode ISO 400. Sighted at Pasir Ris at the park before Elias mall. I will go back there sometime again, good place for birding.

Maybe I'll just share some other pictures I took today. All from Pasir Ris, around 9:30 to 10:30am. Most shots with M mode if I recall correctly. All shots straight from camera, no editing done except resize.

Comments welcome, just wondering if anyone feels that my CPL makes the pictures very soft?

#1 Candles leftover from the festival. I think I forgot to use Marco.

#2 - Reflections =) And the contrasty colors throughout Black vs white, Red vs Green, the blue sky against the brownish waters.

#3 - CPL filter used. Not ever tree is cloud-lined.

#4 - Landscaping, CPL used, not very effective shot. Think I should have lowered the aperture

#5 - Marco, Left my CPL on for this one.

On second look I uploaded the wrong one, I had a better shot. Oh well.

I like FZ18 for its versatility from wide to tele range.
It also produce nice macros with Raynox DCR250.
Below are some shots taken today at City Hall before the start of F1 run.
C & C are welcome. Thanks for viewing.

Yup thanks, actually I do realize that theres so many kinds of birds just within our neighborhoods! I've been quite ignorant. haha.

Today I saw a brownish very tiny bird with white, brown and black lines on the feathers, a little like a zebra, just 1 block away from my house. Pity I wasn't carrying my camera at that time.

And I thought Tampines was quite urbanized that you won't find critters around! my place undergoes very regular fumigation and thus its not very common to see much natural variety.

Hi guys, this thread has been kind of dead. In anycase, I've just sold my FZ18, it was a great cam, but I've decided to get a dSLR after all. Nice knowing you guys! I'll still check this thread once in awhile I guess, (if its alive!)

Awww....well. You're still welcome here since you're the one who started this thread.

Just wanna ask, what other brand of lens (Tele or Wide) can be use instead of Raynox & Vitacon? Is there any other brands?

Please enlighten me...Ommmmm.... Xp

Another birdee shot, this pair of Torres Staight Imperial Pigeons have taken to nesting our backyard for the last couple of years. When they arrive we know the dry-season in Darwin is about to end.

I recommend Olympus TCON. They have WCON too but it seems un-worth it. Isn't 28mm wide enough? I think it almost always is, note that you get distortions too if you use a wider lens.
