Hi, this is my first post, I've just gotten a Lx3 and am excited as a kid on christmas eve
![]() So far I've tended to spend a lot of time with the lens out and screen switched off to save batt life, but I dont like the idea of leaving the front lens exposed. from reading the forums that a b+w clear/protective filter seems to be a good investment (easy maintenance +scratch resist), I'm hoping the lens adaptor accesory (DMW-LA4) will work together well with one. Does anyone have any experience with the lens adaptor or is a 3rd party one recommended? are the threads on the lens barrels compatible? ie. will any 46mm lens work? also is it better just to clean the front lens every now and then? (with a lenspen) and I should scrap the whole idea of a protective filter. |

Think its better to get the tube adaptor and a protective filter. Its better to scratch the filter than the lens. One is replaceable while the other is not and also expensive to replace.
The tube adaptor will take any 46mm 3rd party lens or you can use a step up ring (or down ring) to fit 3rd party lenses. |

If you get the 46mm filter, it looks as per the photos shown in one of the threads here. Not really bulky. I find that with the adapter, the camera is easier to hold. Its like a mini SLR camera. But if you start putting tele/wide converters, it does feel bulky and unbalanced in weight.
