Hi guys,
Need some advice as i intend to get the TAMERON SP AF17-50mm F/2.8. I Heard from friend that there is a newer version currently ? Heard its a sharp lens though abit noisy on the auto focusing part "p Thanks any the enlightment ![]() |

I am using the tamron lens. I dun think there is any new model out yet except for the A16. Yes its a bit noisy but not to the extend of people in the room hearing the AF.

The ones currently sold on the shelves are the 'newer' version already.
The old version doesnt comes with motor. Yes, it is noisy, but I've grown used to it. ![]() |

Go search for some. There are plenty here on CS.
Here are some for Canon mount (no built-in motor, but optics wise, should be identical), which I feel bring out the colour rendition and resolving power of the lens. ![]() No post-processing done. Image straight out of camera. ![]() Noise-reduction, typography added. No other post-processing. ![]() B&W conversion, clone stamp for skin, Levels adjustment, vignetting. No other adjustments. |
