Got my 1000D last month but did not get a chance to try out. So few days ago, I took it out for a test run.

Comments on the first 3 shots - try using a smaller aperture to improve DOF for closeup shots (F9). Presently, only a bit of the subject is in focus and does not give the picture impact. If need be, up the ISO. The 1/10s suffers from some shake - IS does not remove shake but reduces it.

Thanks for all the feedback
I think the OOF was partly due to my handshakes. The other problem is the low light hence like Russ said, the DOF is too narrow with such large aperture. Maybe should start thinking of external flash ![]() ![]() I have also taken some night scenes and day time scenes. Currently looking over them. Some of them are taken in both RAW and jpeg. Will put up more later Studiofever, why did you ask about RAW, did I miss something? ![]() Last edited by two200; 21st September 2008 at 12:11 AM. |

Now for some night scenes. Unfortunately, I underestimated my handshake and overestimated the IS, so I can only show a few of the night shots

Hmm, another thing you should know, and may not know, is motion blur. Sometimes, stuff looks blur in your photos because the subject is moving. IS can counter your hands moving, but cannot counter people moving in long exposures.
I especially love number 5
