I'm one person who feels that there are more pixels in the 5D Mark 2 than I know what to do with.

I started out photography on a 640x480 Canon Powershot 400 that was not even a single megapixel.

My first DSLR was a Canon D30 with 3.1 megapixels. I could print up to 10R with that.

My current DSLR is a Canon 10D with 6 megapixels. I still print up to 10R.

If I upgrade to a 5D Mark 2 with 21 megapixels, I would still be printing 10R. But I would need to upgrade memory cards, even my computer, to deal with the extra pixels. Granted you can shoot at lower RAW resolutions but if that was the case I could just buy a used or run-out special 5D and be done with it.

The megapixel race is getting a little ridiculous.

How about putting it this way.

Get what you NEED. and stop getting what you WANT.

that will save money. and of course a more sensible way of enjoying photography.

Can't afford the 5D MkII..... so have to hope that is new FF camera is 5D Mk1.5..... hopfully it will be cheaper
