how much is 40D new, local set, now

now that 50d and 5dmkll has been announce and 50d coming next week at around 1.9k body only, how much is a new local 40d body only cost?

Canon's recommended promotion price in singapore is 1599SGD with some freebies for 40D body only.

My e-quote from MS dated 17Sept and supposedly valid for 7 days says,

Why get one 'Now' when 50D is releasing at the end of the month ?

If you need the camera Here & Now, then no choice lah. If can wait abit, why not till 50D is release and watch 'Camera bodies collecter' sells their 40D inorder to buy the 50D Even grey set would be cheaper then

new 40D is 84,800 yen at mapcamera (in Tokyo) and the 50D is available at the Canon store (hits retail next week in Tokyo) for ~150,000 yen.

30D prices are unbelievable in US. At adorama prices are slashed to 699USD. that makes less than 1000SGD! 30D is a great tool as well

i'm actually thinking of selling off my 400D and get a 1st or 2nd hand 40D year end.

would it be a wise choice to do as now 50D gets introduced into the market and 40D's value will drop.

$1399 at MS cheapest it can go. Hahahaha i think :P waiting for 2 more months before i get it i hope by that time they throw in free BG same price also can like for the 400D now :P hahaaha

Q1: what can the 40D do that your 400D cannot?

Q2: from your list from Q1, what features do you need?

i had the same question a few months back, decided to jump straight to 5D.

1- bascially i find it annoying of the size of the camera but i'm aware that this is a fairly good sized camera when travelling.

and since the 50D is entering the market now the 40D will be selling cheap. and since i've some extra cash i my as well just grab the 40D.
