How to check for fungus on used lens?

I m thinking of buying resale lens but heard of the horrors of fungus. How do I check when buying used lens? Sounds kinda risky but $$ no enuf so have to buy used lor.. pls help. Thks!

easiest way to check. Go camera workshop at Peninsula SC. Choose a 2nd hand lens, "boss, this lens got fungus or not??" "Our Fungus lens wont be displayed here"

Aiya.. open both side of the lens cap, look at the back, point the front into a light, check if got misty stuff or some thread like thingy, if yes. = fungus. haha?
