Ya...he's a hero of mine in my younger days watching science and tech documentaries with my dad.....and I still am very enchanted by what he says and believe. His ideology transend the equations of religion, creed, political or race. He shows us the potential of what greatness we can archieve as a human species if we just learn to see the world from another perspective. A perspective of "us" and not so much about "me" in order to survive.

hehe actually everytime I watch a documentary it always brings me back to my days with my dad. So you keep swimming with your son. memories are made of these precious times when you still have them all to yourself before the girlfriend thingy comes along heheh...

consumer one can or not. I would say good enough for non-paid event shoot.

pro one cannot loan cos got shooting on 29 nov early in the morning.

if you need the sony pd170, you can rent from cinegear - $100 per day with tripod. I always rent from them when I need a second cam. this is a very good cam for run and gun. Collect on the evening before event and return the next day after the event.

Of course if you want wide format HD cam then get the Z1 at $250 also from cinegear. for this cam you need to be good with manual focus.

Do not get cam (Z7 or EX1) that is using cmos chip you will run into big problem if there is many photographers using flash.

yes these are, actually, my transfer decks. I'm still using tape for my workflow, cos I need to hand back all the raw footage to clients. Some willing to pay I will give them CF card ($200 for 2 hrs vs $20 for tapes).

sony Z5 and Z7 can record to CF card and tape together. Some clients do not want to digitize the tape so they prefer CF card. the 16g card can hold 2 hours of video footage, which I sell for $200 on top of the cost of videography service. If they buy the raw tape (digital video cassette) it is $20 per tape. If they want me to digitize and burn on DVD - it will be $100 per hour, minimum 2 hours, self-collect.

DVD - $2, yes a blank disc from China.
