Hi, I am thinking of getting Nikkor 50mm f 1.8D len for my D60 but understand that it cannot auto focus. Is it true? Anyone tryi it? Any problem?

No other problems as you'd still be able to meter and use all the other functions. Just practise manual focusing first... |

There should be a number of D60 users with 50 f1.8, given the lens' immense popularity.
There shouldn't be any problem. D60 has a good electronic rangefinder which helps you to get accurate focus in manual focusing.

I have tried manual focusing with my one and only 18-55mm(kit's len), find that auto focus by camera is faster and clearer. I am worry the same will happen with the 50mm len. Anyone can share with me your expriences? Thank you.

Other alternatives are the Sigma 30mm f1.4 HSM which will AF with your D60 or just wait for the AFS50mm f1.4 version to be released. Both come at a premium price though, compared to the 50mm f1.8.

Just a couple of months before.. But I did not start heavy posting until about several months later.
![]() Ok, I think enough OT in this thread. TS: Let us know if you're getting used to MF with the D60 and share with us your experience. ![]() Last edited by lsisaxon; 19th September 2008 at 09:20 AM. |

It just takes a lil more practise... you go try it with your kit lens first...
