D40/x does not have Live View... so if you want Live View, you would have to buy a camera with that feature, e.g. D300, D90.

sometimes some low or high angle shots are difficult to frame with the viewfinder.

It is not easy to frame even with LiveView unless the LCD screen is articulating like in the Olympus E-3.

Look through the viewfinder

Sorry, how can you miss the fact that D40 has no live view if it is so important to you?

No cheap method to have it for your D40.
I suggest selling your D40 and getting a D90 when it comes out (it records video too).

Well, if thats the case then just work with what you have Besides, you'll learn to love the viewfinder. There are many D300/40D users out there who won't even touch their live-view function simply because looking through the viewfinder is so much better! 324 megapixels dude!

That's the hard truth that you've to look through the viewfinder as there is no liveview with the D40.

Huh?! You said you can live without liveview, then isn't the viewfinder your next best choice? In the case of d40, it's the only choice? You expecting (or dreaming) to link some portable lcd screen on to your d40 is it?

yup plus live view only appears on the mid-end to high-end/professional. Or the D90 on wards.
Should you really need it at a budget i suggest you get a olympus or a canon where virtually all their newer models have live view.

btw isnt the resolution of the eyes 576mp? lol imagine the amount of space needed to record video at 576mp at at 72 fps for 1 year.. okok sory for OT
