Terence19,

Like your picture. Mind sharing your set-up for this pic.

Did you use the 17-55 f/2.8 with your 40D (I saw your sig, thus presuming)

The lighted signboards were nice, but would have liked a bit more light on the people (without) flash.

That would bring more life or sense of busy street life.

It is tough to expose the people without overexposing the signboard with a limited DR of the sensor, probably not the best scene to take. HDR will end up pushing the raw file past its limits and introduce lots of noise as well. Maybe a GND might help to keep the highlights back while exposing for the people. Even then you probably need a high ISO to keep the shutter speed reasonable not to introduce human motion

Maybe you try shooting in RAW + JPEG next time.

Never shot in RAW

Yes, you caught me. I was using a EFS 17-55 2.8 lens without flash.

I be going there again for the next 2 weeks any pointers i should take note to make it a better picture.

This picture was stich together with 4 photos.

Nice stitching for a scene with people in it. How did you manage to get it to stitch so cleanly?

As for signboards being overexposed, looks like a split ND filter would work well here. I'm not sure if you can bracket exposures here - will add a second or two per shot, not sure how tight your timing is between shots. Alternatively you could go back to shoot another set, exposing for the signboards, but that may make it harder to merge.

Was there a couple of years back - this actually looks almost deserted for Shibuya Crossing

Yes. The 2003 American movie Lost in Translation featured a scene at the crossing, as well as the third installment of The Fast and the Furious and the 2007 movie Jumper.

Shibuya is famous for its scramble crossing. It is located in front of the Shibuya Station Hachiko exit and stops vehicles in all directions to allow pedestrians to inundate the entire intersection. Three large TV screens mounted on nearby buildings overlook the crossing. The Starbucks store overlooking the crossing is also one of the busiest in the world. Wiki
