It's like comparing the TZ15 & LX3, both are "compact" running on the same image processor but meant for totally different market.

I was looking at both cameras, and I also got confused. They are of around the same price range, but FZ28 has much higher optical zoom. FX3 is more compact, but I don't know what else are the differences already. I'm an amateur photographer who was originally looking at the LX3, but I don't really need the compact size and the optical zoom could certainly come in useful. Could somebody more knowledgeable point out the differences?

Hi all, my FZ28 arrived two days ago and my head is still spinning with all the functions and menus. Have not had a lot of daylight hours to have a play yet. Guess it is better to have the functions there and hardly use them than to not have at all. I am impressed so far, sorry, no experience with LX3.

Hi guys exactly similar thoughts here...
which to get.. seems like the lx3 has superior shots.. but during big events, i think zomming is impt.. Does the lx3 have expanding capapbilities ? for zooming? |

don't expect good indoor performance for super-zoom cams like FZ28.
look to the LX3 for this aspect. |
