Saw this on Thom's website the other day and am wondering if it really is that useful for Nikon users? Does it really tell you stuff that you wouldn't have figured out on your own and unlock the full potential of the body? Would be very interested if it does.
Anyone have it? http://www.bythom.com/nikond80guide.htm |

Hi, I used the other book 'Nikon D80 Field Guide' by David D. Busch. A lot of the shooting features are better explained than the official manual from Nikon. I reckon the information in books are pretty similar, user trial and experimenting beats any books imo.

I had purchased the Magic Lantern Guide, Digital Field Guide and Thom Hogan's Complete Guide for D80 and I find Thom Hogan's to be more complete on the features and quirks of the camera and easier to digest than the Magic Lantern Guide. Digital Field Guide will be more useful if you also want some tips on taking the various types of pictures but I will rather read a book dedicated to that topic. Thus, I bought only Thom Hogan's guides on D200 and D300.
