Most likely will be purely comestic change. Or like D70 v D70s; slight improvement. If it's true, maybe it's meant to boost sales or nikon is getting geared up for xmas.

could it be because Nikon worries that more people will buy the D90 instead? hmm...

Limited Edition stuff ? Ha.... I guess the appeal is to the vanity inside each of us..... I am sure some folks intending to buy the normal version may be swayed..... Hopefully, it's more than cosmetics.... Then again, there's already gg to be a D90 coming up, and the D300 is an excellent body, so it's gg to be tough competition.

if they would have a built-in AF motor in it and if the price is reasonable then why not?.. but then again, I'm already AF locked on getting a D90. ![]() ![]()

If you like it gold, go to Tiffany or Gold Heart or any of the jewelry store and get yourself a sparkling gold necklace or ring or ornament. If you are serious about photography, your focus should be getting your frames right and hope that you can afford a good camera that can deliver sharp and crispy images under extreme conditions. Limited edition in functionality, I will consider. Limited edition in looks... Pros will just look at you, and .....

It is a total waste of resources. If they really want to generate more sales for the D60, release a Hello Kitty limited edition and Hello Kitty fans will grab them all up, regardless of whether they have any use of it or not
![]() For the rest of us, we will just get more or better lenses ![]()

Nikon did produced limited edition versions of film camera, like for the year of the dragon, etc. There were some gold-plated ones too. Those, IMHO are true collectables.
But for digital bodies, no. |

IMO, mechanical bodies are even better as collectibles but mint condition ones will suffice, no real need for limited edition, unless it is titanium.

Aiyah, they should be more practical and come up with the "abused" look! Gaffered to the max, rugged second hand cosmetic appearance so that one will think of stealing it from you. An instant classic tailored to the macho individual
