The Canon LPB 2410 is a colour laser printer without the RIP engine, it's only got the printing engine and some memory. Meaning that u r using ur PC as the spooler and RIP, so it will greatly depends on the power of your CPU.
Also the toner cartridge is 4-in-1, ie CMYK all in 1 cartridge, 1 colour use finish, change the whole cartridge. But nevertheless, it's dirt cheap for a colour laser, SRP around $1.5k, should be able to get cheaper on the street. Not familar with the Epson though. But if u got double the budget, I would think Xerox Phaser 6200 is good, seen the colour output and speed, ![]() |

Wow tha's fast, Thanks
4-in-1 cartridge ? but I was quoted prices for three individual C-M-Y color cartridge because the salesman say c/w original only good for 100 or so pages. Any way I'm more concern wif the color ouput of the pictures. Is it comparable to an inkjet or better? Usually its a couple of 4x6 digital pic wif some text description on an A4 size paper. Thanks |

I have all these printers in front of me now, I can tell u that Canon 2410 is actually same as HP 2500/1500 series
even their toners and imaging unit are compatible with each other image quality is good, but yellow and blue colour not as nice as HP 2500/1500, HP's colour is the best IMO for Epson, there are a few model, 900, 1900....etc I dun really like Epson colour laser, firstly their toner finish VERY fast....and the colour is too contrasty, changing of toner is difficult, u need to dig thru the menu to change toners the print sever is lousy, but good thing is that it use cheap PC100 RAM modules for Xerox 6200, the toner is the most expensive, the print server is lousy, ram upgradable using SODIMM, very very slow printer, long warm up time too what other printers u have in mind? I can give u a brief review ![]() |

so huge and heavy that need 3 pple to carry changing of toner is quite messy due to the design, u will find toners stains everywhere very soon. if you are careless, u may spoil the imaging unit during installation, cos there isn't any protection of the imaging unit many consumables to buy, and they are very expensive 1 x waste toner tray, 4 x toner and 4 x imaging units, while canon and HP only have 4 x toner and 1 x imaging unit as usual, Xerox colour is too contrasty for my liking....but the output is slightly glossy, which looks very nice best for printing of color graphics, but not good for photos blue appears purple sometimes got TRUE Adobe PS support (while HP only PS emulation) but IMO, HP's emulation seems better ![]() speed not bad, but the printer server not as powerful as HP jetdirect |
